Yes I did try out the new tyres in the rain and they’re every bit as good as I remember them. Result!

My solo Romeo ride today was great! Lovely sunny autumnal weather so I took the Triumph out to stretch its legs and scrub in a new rear tyre. 70-ish miles up and it’s getting there.

Good looking bike Neil. Always liked the Duel sport Triumph as well. Sounds like a ( tire'ing ) month.

You have so many neat old villages to ride through. What's the name of the one in the picture?

This was on the last lap about 10 miles from home. It’s called Eccleshall.  Best one near us for unpronounceabilty is Wybunbury. It’s pronounced wimberry!

Yes, I went regularly in the 80's and 90's, but my last trip with my old biking buddy to the Manx GP in September 2016 proved to be his swansong as he's now hung up his leathers at 78.  There are people who travel over solo, but for me half the fun was going with a bunch of guys and socialising as well.  So glad to have watched "yer maun" Joey Dunlop #3 race there in his hey day.  What a legend, for me he's up there with the likes of Mike Hailwood and John McGuiness "Mr 130 mph" - can you imagine, 130 mph average lap speed on those roads?  He must've been in the 190's on the mountain mile!  As you say, balls of steel.

What, something like this?:

Love the thought of a 1050 Speed Triple, but could I use all that extra power on the road?...  No.  Of course not!
