thought I goofed up....
« on: October 05, 2020, 06:12:37 PM »
Shopping a new MotoVision headlight bulb for the LIKE the other day.
Like me....bulbs dim as they age.
Kept finding 55/60W bulbs.
It's been years since I put the bulb in there.
Made me wonder ....did I put a 55/60W bulb in my 35/35W LIKE's socket?!

Got out the camera.....

To the Dell to focus.....

Nope, it's a 35/35W  :)

That's "One in a Row"!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Will likely have to wait for warmer weather to return next spring. Do not like unsnapping the panel to get at the headlight unless it's been warmed in the sun.
Besides that, I finally got my L mirror to stay put - and it would have to come off again to replace the bulb. If I keep fooling with it I risk needing to replace the whole L brake reservoir/mirror-mount.
Spend time researching best 35/35W bulb. (how does the little Liberty with its 6Ah battery get a 55/60W bulb!!? - it's a great light!)

So 35/35W is maximum rating for the Like?  Poor.  As an old mate of mine described the headlamp on an old BSA C15 "it's like a candle in a sweaty sock!" - this was the reign of Joseph Lucas, Prince of Darkness though.

Take your point on the panel though, wait until it's least likely to be cold & brittle.  In an emergency, I can recommend the use of a hairdryer.  (Not that I need one for any other purpose these days mind!)

Yep, 35/35.
I often see deer standing along side the dark road smiling & snickering and sharing something at my expense when I motor past at an actual 28mph.
Embarrassing.
