"My scooter runs better with higher octane" is the same as saying my scooter has more power and is faster when I drilled holes in my exhaust

No you are correct its not my scoot. You have stated a fact,, cookie for you!
But it is a combustible engine that works on the same principle as every other combustible engine. The only thing that differs in this equation is the rider and you have proven you are different from others in many statements you have made that I, for some reason took the time to read hoping you may have something that is educational.
