Thanks for the responses. Fuel comes out of the vacuum valve beneath the tank when the starter is engaged.
Good. Now I know EXACTLY what you are speaking!
By starter should extend or retract when voltage applied, I honestly don't know which! But it supposed to move a short distance! How it works is an air bypass hole is open for throttle closed and the engine is cold. After a short time the tapered pin on the bystarter extends and closes the hole, similar to a manual choke being pushed in or the auto choke opening the choke butterfly all the way.
Does the engine have compression?
Are the valve clearances right?
Is the cam still in time with the crank?
