X-Town 300i
« on: October 23, 2020, 05:34:51 PM »
I bought an 2020 X-town 300i a few months ago.  The left mirror arm has become loose enough that I can move it.  I lifted up the rubber cover and found a wire wrapped around in such a way that I'm worried if the mirror moves completely around it will break the wire (the turn signal is in the mirror).  So what I need to know is how do I tighten this mirror so this doesn't happen.  It has a nut of some sort that I've never seen and I don't have, or know, what kind of tool to get.  Can anyone help???

I think you have to go at it from under.  Nut on top seems to have nothing to do with tightening mirror.  Complicated design=not necessary in my book.

The base nut only tightens the stud. The mirror has to be tightened with a ground down 10mm socket from the top. Crappy design. The nut is not very thick, the opening for the socket is too small, and after they put the nut on they hammer over the end of the stud so you can't take the nut off.
