remote start question
« on: November 17, 2020, 11:13:15 PM »
anyone ever install a remote starter on their scooter? just curious. Winter is coming and it can get really cold where I live, I normally like to warm the engine up to open the enricher before leaving but having a remote start would eliminate me having to go outside to start the bike.

I have never even heard of a remote start for a scooter nor ever heard it mentioned here. I did a search and lo and behold they do exist. It seems most of them are generic motorcycle alarms that also come with remote start.

Alibaba, Ebay and the other usual suspects sell them...they don't appear to be very expensive. Give it a try and let us know how it works.

Many years ago I bought a cheap Chinese scooter and it came with a remote start and  alarm.  I bought it to haul in the truck when pulling the RV to the campground.  The problem arose when the scooter was off the alarm was set so the movement in the truck set off the alarm. You ought to see the looks you get hauling a scooter with the alarm going off through a resort Colorado town.  ::)  I would have to disconnect the battery in order to haul it.

The fun part was when people were walking by the scooter to hit the remote start.
