Which would you prefer?

I bought a Super 8 150 without a owners manaul. I can either order a reprint owners manual or a Cyclepedia for the scooter.  When the scooter gets sold which would you prefer to receive?

The reprint would be the same. The Cyclepedia would be a book that goes into detail the repair of the bike, basically a shop manaul. Both are within $10.  of each other.

i GOT THE SHOP MANUAL for ever just a few dollars more  and E MANUAL for my Piaggio B V 350 again for ever,.  I did print it out to be able to see what I was doing in the Garage,

Not certain that it matters too awfully much. From many of the questions we receive here -- lotta folks aren't bothering to read either one😊

That's what I'd want too when selling the scooter.  If I wanted good information about repairing, I'd want the other one.

while most of us on this forum own a shop manual I would bet that 95-99% of scooter owners don't own one or don't care about having a manual. If I ever sell my scoot I'll definitely pass along the shop manual but I doubt it makes much difference to the average scooter buyer.

People think differently. When I buy used scooter, I look for the signs about how keen the owner has been about the scooter. One thing can be, that if he has both of those manuals, he is probably more keen than the average about to keep his scooter in top condition. Probably. When small things are counted together, its a sign for me, whether there is a chance to make an offer, or go to look for another, perhaps the one that has more miles ahead than back.
 Takes some time and work, and usually pays back.

Stig  your probably correct. It seems that even on extremely low mileage scooters I purchase the two things that are missing is the owners manual and the spare key.   I should of said three things including the tool kit.

Guy has but one key - no tool kit and no manual - he better have dealer records of oil changes....because he's surely never touched it!

At 328 miles I don't beleive oil changes are a issue.  I have found more then a few used  scooters missing these items while some might have one or more of these items.    Most owners are totally dependent on the dealer for service and dealers keep computer records of service.

One thing I do avoid when buying used is aftermarket modifications.  Modifications such as aftermarket air filter and exhaust system. Found a little 50 agility with 1700 miles but was modified so didn’t make a offer.

What I have found is older people buy a scooter and ride it the first summer a little then they get parked in the garage. Fast foward a few years and they decide to sell them and need the carburetor cleaned, fresh fuel, new battery and depending on time fresh tires.

If young people buy a scooter they run the wheels off.  These statements were made by my local Kymco dealer.

Mmm.  I suspect most of the "older people" on this forum buy a scooter and ride it to within an inch of it's life lol
