Aww...mannn. I'm so sorry, wordslinger. That's rotten. We gotta find you something fast since that's how you get to work and all.

...yup...think she threw a bottom-end bearing...

..i've been hearing a increasingly louder rattle, for the last cpl days...

..i eliminated variator noise by removing the moving drive face and all the variator bits except the boss...

..placed a thin washer on the shaft, then the drive face...and fired it up...

..still rattling...

..remved the fan shroud and checked out all those components...

..everything fine...

..removed the valve cover and thoroughly inspected the top end...

..nice and tight...

..it's one helluva noise....

Fixing it is only a matter of having time and $$, but you need to be able to get to work to earn those dollars. I hate that these things never happen at convenient times. And I thought I had a rough couple of days....

So sorry, wordslinger.

Bummer is I'm in San Antonio .

It's an '07 with just over 5000km on it.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

Sad to hear that slinger, time to revive the ppl. I don't need to tell you don't ride it until you get it sorted, don't want to kill it. If you want to pull it apart and replace bearings or piston you will enjoy it, mhpnd was only a 2t, but was a fun job. If you are concerned about chinese scoots, check out scootdawg.com, there are some there that are happy with them, mostly about how you treat them. They are not a Kymco, but will get you through. Again, sorry to hear it, all the best. We await the return of the Guilty.

Damn sorry to hear,Got a good run out of it though! The volocity is a hit and miss on quality. Probly cheaper to build the people, but takes time and money. You'll figure something out  ;)
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

That's great news, wordslinger!!! I hope your people s50 will ride as long and as well as your a50. And who knows, after giving your baby a rest and some TLC she may decide to entertain you for a few more km.  :)

I'm real happy to know that you will only have a day or two of downtime without a scoot since you have that 34 mile round trip for work. ;D

Have a safe trip tomorrow!
