NSR: can we track Covid vaccinating - without drama?
« on: December 18, 2020, 11:08:47 PM »
Dec 18, 2020
Small town, S/W Ohio.
First vaccines were available at our city hospital, where my wife works, this past week.
Wife is scheduled to get her shot #1 tomorrow morning at the hospital!
I'm impressed - our new president & his wife won't get theirs until Monday.

Front line workers should be first.
Over here in the UK the priority goes, over 85’s, care home residents & workers, front-line health staff & other front-line emergency workers, over 75’s then on down the age ranges. Oh and somewhere in there immune system-compromised folks get prioritised.

If I get one (as a reasonably healthy sub 70 year-old) by spring, I’ll be happy.

@Here in Italy according to Min.of health.

First line, doctors and health care workers will get their first doses - some 1.4 million people.
They will be followed by residents in care homes - just over 570,000 people.
Those aged over 80 will be next in line, followed by those aged 60-79, and those suffering from at least one chronic disease.
Vaccines will then be distributed to key workers -- teachers, police, prison wardens
After that, it will be offered to the general population at walk-in centres. Might be spring.
It will not be obligatory at first.

Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Good luck !
My daughter in law in the US is a nurse in Altoona, near Des Moines IA. They get compulsory Covid tests twice a week at work and earlier during the week she has been tested positive twice. She had no symptoms and did not know that she has Covid - but since the tests she has lost her smell and taste only. We are worried about the grandchildren and my son but so far they do not have any symtoms. Since my daughter in laws’s tests my son decided to go for a test as well - but his test result was negative.
My son and daughter in law bought plane tickets to visit us less than two weeks ago. They were suppose to arrive on 8 January but since the positive Covid test the flight will have to be re-scheduled for a later date.
In the meanwhile we are just hoping and praying that everything will turn out well. This Covid thing is getting closer as what we were hoping for.
Life is a journey. Just spend some time, and enjoy the trip.

I know a person locally that tested positive for covid and the only symptoms she ever had was to lose her sense of taste and smell. It's weird how some people it can be fatal and others a minor inconvenience.

Thanks, I spoke to my son about an hour ago and my daughter in law is perfectly well. She still have no taste or smell but she is up and running without further complications. Apparently she should be back at work on Wednesday.
The children an my son still have no symptoms, so we are very thankful.

Were husband and children quarantined for 2 weeks and then tested after living with an infected person?
