Sharing my newly restored Grand Dink (vista) 250
« on: January 01, 2021, 04:47:41 PM »
I bought a Grand Dink (called dink here in the Philippines) during pandemic. After 3 months, i crashed due to panic braking, landing on my left side and scaped the hell out of it. Luckily i knew a really good auto painter and was able to copy the stock paint. I Bought parts needed  from a dealer. Luckily we got a Kymco Plant here and all parts are available. I also redone the seat to my taste. Just sucks that we don't have much aftermarket accessories here in PH like the malossi performace parts, givi windshield and crash bars. Yamaha is more popular here, models like nmax and aerox so they're the one who get the good stuffs here

Very nice job! Really a good looking job and scooter!

Where in the PI? We lost a good man there named Vivo (on here) several years ago, have no idea what happened to him. I think he had a tour business and had a number of Suburban/Tahoe suv cars he hauled people around....either he was near or rode that twisty road to Baguio! Maybe you could find out what happened to him...

Welcome aboard Zech !
Thanks for posting pictures of your very sharp Kymco. Great color!

It is interesting to watch videos of city streets in the Philippines - so many scooter shops along the way. SYM, Kymco, etc.!
We are fortunate here in the States, I think, that Asian scooter manufacturers even bother to market some of their scooters here - N. Americans purchase so few scooters - and probably most of those are not from the likes of SYM, Kymco or Honda - but rather are the dealerless internet ship-to-your-driveway machines from China.

Again, welcome! - and that's a handsome Kymco!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

You did a very nice job in your restoration it looks like new. Usually if they sit in the sun the black plastic fades white on the back side of the faring, What year is your Granddink? How many kilometers on it?

Ironically I've got  a 06 GV that I bought as a parts bike for a project.  Since the engine won't fit my PeopleS   I decided to repair the GV. Yesterday I had new tires put on it and stopped by the auto parts store for some paint to fix some road rash.

I would like to welcome you to the forum as well.

Yep the Grandvista and Granddink are the same. For marketing reasons they figured dink would not go over very well in the West.  In Asia Dink means dual income no kids.

Yeah you'd think that some people in the U.S. would love to brag about their Grand Dink.

Lol that's funny

I like the diamond sheet metal flooring you put in, as opposed to the black plastic.  I have a blue 2007 GV 250 with the plastic floorboard.  Is the metal really slippery when it gets wet?  That would be my main concern.  Good looking restoration.  Enjoy!

@Zech, knowing my request is a little bit redarded,
but are this floormat and passenger footstep metal original KYMCO parts?
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus
