Getting ready to test my local dealer....
« on: January 03, 2021, 09:07:45 PM »
Winter weather has set in - so thinking it is a good time to see how my local dealer can handle replacing tires on my Liberty150i.
They sell/service Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Kymco, and Ducati bikes and scooters.....no Piaggios - although they've had used Italian scooters in the showroom, so hopefully they'll be familiar with them.

The Liberty's nearby dealer blew away in a tornado a few yrs ago.
Thinking of riding over with a set of Angels to be installed on the Liberty. The rear is pretty much gone after 6,000 miles. Front is still like new - but will not ride on a front Maxxis and a rear Angel! so will have a pair of these Pirellis installed.

Yrs ago this dealer swapped my LIKE's Kendas for a set of City Grips soon after I purchased the Kymco from them. They did a good job of it.

I'm at least thinking about it.....as it is 45 miles to the nearest Piaggio dealer.
However - I do feel like I want to put some $$ to my hometown dealer.....would be a bummer to see them close.

Think I'll give them a call....

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Stig I'm sure they will do fine. Everything you said is why I patronize my local dealer. Something else I found out is they were competitive in price on tires with mail order companies.  While each scooter was in for tires I had the brake fluid flushed and the coolant flushed.  Last week I had them do tires on the GV project. I dropped it off Wednesday and they called me Thursday to pick it up.  The  service writer even loads the scooter and ties it down on my trailer while I visit with the owner.

my local full line motorcycle/scooter dealer does a good job, too. I'm happy to bring them some parts and occasional tire business. Heck, I love looking around the showroom and sitting on everything after I pick up whatever part I ordered. They are full line big 4 Japanese plus BMW, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Polaris, Kymco and a few others..always friendly and helpful. I hope to someday buy a new bike from them.

just edited this to give them a shout out...Sun and Fun Motorsports in Iowa City, IA..great place!
2010 People S200 - sold after 8 wonderful years!
2014 Ninja 300
1996 Honda Helix

All sorts of good reasons to stay local Stig. Go for it!
