Isn't this monster something!?
« on: January 27, 2021, 12:40:15 AM »
I had a new Burgman 400 a few years ago - might still have it if it'd been white or red.....but these big 'ol 650's in white are something to behold IMHO.

They have kind of a rude nick-name - still, what a machine!
If I had one I'd have to go for coffee in the next state over!

I knocked 250lbs off when I swapped the Burgman for the Liberty.

It sure is. Got mine in August just a week before we picked up the DT. Absolutely Love it!  If I could only have one bike and was forced to choose between them, I'd keep the big burg without hesitation.  I obsessed on the lower 'stock photo' for weeks before I found mine, still my favorite 'Burg pic. I don't reckon I've heard about the nickname yet

I was looking at a new Burgman 650 at my dealer. No price tag on it.
Young salesman came over. I mentioned that the "$12,000+ fees" for this Burgman would also buy a number of motorcycles parked here.
He exclaimed,  "twelve thousand for a scooter!?
Naw --- I'll go get the price."
He came back with real big eyes😊

I figured Boogeyman or Boogerman.  I affectionately call my Kymco 500 the pig after having to load it up a couple of times.  I realize the weight is what makes these things ride like a Cadillac but dang they are heavy.  My People S is a midweight 250 which seems to to have a good balance between weight and nimbleness.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

...Yea I can't imagine spending that kind of money on a cycle... bought this '07 w/12,000 miles for $2500 w/slight damage - the grandkids had driven a golf cart into it & knocked it over. Just a few days later, Sheila bought the MINT '15 DT  w/600 miles! also for $2500, for her son. Over the period of a few weeks he dropped it several times so then I bought it from her for $2000.

...never really used nicknames for any of my vehicles until lately. we simply call my big white burg 'DABURG' , and my cousin name the burnt orange downtown 'CHEETO' & it stuck .  originally I planned on re-painting the DT dark grey or black but it's kinda growing on me

FJ you sound similar to me searching out the bargins. I thought the same thing about (Orange) my 06  Kymco Xicting 250  not to the point of repainting though but have come to like the bright color.

I had an '06 Lardy Executive. The electrically adjustable windshield was nice, as was the ability to manually shift and/or hold in a gear.  They didn't however make up for the fact that my well maintained scooter gave up it's extremely expensive CVT system with less than 29K miles. Earlier models had well documented issues, which Suzuki denied any responsibility for. I don't know for sure if that CVT system has been upgraded or not, but all I can say is buyer beware-and do your due diligence.

Yes, I didn't want to say that name out loud, or mention that CVT system. "If it quits, sell the scooter." Is what I kept hearing.
The 400 seemed to be a well loved scooter.

Even I've heard about the CVT going on the 650 - the word on the street (lol) is that the 400s are the ones to have :)
