Using non-Kymco Oil Filters
« on: February 17, 2021, 12:13:42 AM »
Sorry to start another topic on the oil filter.

I was taking a look at underside of the AK 550. In another thread I asked a question about using a BMW filter of perhaps a HIFLOFILTRO brand.

Well, to my surprise, the oil filter on my brand new AK 550 is the HIFLOFILTRO HF-164.

I am under the impression that motorcycle/scooters come filled with oil from the factory. Maybe that's not the case or Kymco uses HIFLO as the OEM manufacturer.

Sounds like they are coming from the factory wearing a HiFlo.
There you go, no worries about using something less than OEM on your expensive scooter!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Is expensive. Probably the most expensive new scooter offered in the US now. BMW C scooters no longer available new. Burgman 650 is gone and no Yamaha TMAX for quite some time. Also no Honda above 150 cc. Closest to the cost of the AK here now is Vespa.
