Taller Windshield
« on: March 09, 2021, 11:23:33 PM »
I have been looking at pictures of other Kymco People 250's and it appears that there are two different sized windshields.  My version, lower pic, is the shorter one.  I'd like to find something with a little better coverage.  Does anyone know where I can find a larger windshield?...either the larger OEM one, or aftermarket?

have you tried the usual places, ebay, Amazon, etc.?  I typed in Kymco People 250 windscreen ( in my search engine of choice - DuckDuckGo) and a lot of options showed up. You'll probably just have to filter through them to see what you like.

Thanks for the advice.  I actually did quite an extensive search before posting here.  Unfortunately there are windshields for the People S250 and the People 150 and 50, but nothing feasible for the People 250.  I say feasible, because it seems there is an ebay option from Italy, but it has a $120 shipping price quote.  Hoping to find something stateside if I can.

Thanks!

What year is your 250? Is it a relatively rare model? It seems there isn't a large aftermarket for our Kymco scoots, especially as they are getting older. Are there any of the universal models you can make fit?

I see a little Honda scooter in your garage, too..is there a story behind that one?

I didn't see many options when I went to purchase a taller windscreen for my Xciting's.   I ended up purchasing mine on ebay from Italy.   I have a similar  07 People 250 in the same color and it did not have a windscreen. My 07 People 250S came with a very short windscreen and completely  different body style.  The  only thing I could suggest would be to look at a aftermarket windscreen that will work.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

Mine is a 2006 model Kymco People 250.  It has a round headlight.  The later model Kymco People S250 has a more agressive (not-round) headlight and a much differntly shaped windshield and mounting.  I've been debating making my own windscreen out of a sheet of acrylic available at my local hardware store (~$20).  Might have to go this route if I can't find what I want otherwise.

I've got several scooters, but that purple one is my favorite.  Its a 1996 Honda Elite "S" (SA50E) with its restrictions removed.  It weighs almost nothing and can haul my 200lb+ carcass to almost 40mph.  Best "around town" vehicle I own.

I recently found a youtube channel called 'Ruby The Elite'.

He has numerous Honda scooters of various vintages and also really likes his Elite 50s! It's worth a look.

Still looking for a taller windshield for my 2006 People 250.  Any ideas on what other avenues to follow?

Thanks,

Chris

Well heck, with some cajiggering a Slipstreamer would fit.

There's a couple Puig's too but that'd take some measuring.

I did find an old post in this forum that mentioned the Givi 438a with a 438a fit kit, but I think those are no longer available.
