Stuck cylinder jug / Unable to remove cylinder Jug
« on: March 11, 2021, 05:42:22 PM »
Hi all,
I had a gasket leak and maybe some piston damage as well so I was going to do a 70cc Mezoly Kit. However, im stuck at removing the cylinder jug. I tried hitting it with the back of the Rachet and as well as a rock with cloth in between of course but it just wont move. I am able to turn the engine over but I do hear the rings scratching agasint the cylinder jug. Any suggestions?

it's a stock kymco agility which I believe is similar to the GY6 Engine.

I like to use a block of wood and a good hammer.  Hit it from all directions you can reach - left, right, top and bottom if you can.

Amen to that.  You can't hurt it any more than it's already hurt.  If the piston moves, it's only the base gasket that's holding it in place. I have a heavy rubber mallet that works every time.  Cylinders are cheap anyway.

I had that same issue and put the top end back on again for a day or 2 before trying a seçond time.   Tapped it with a small hammer and eased right off.   If you have the new cylinder waiting to go on, knock it off with a good smack of a mallet!!
