Lake Superior scooter ride?
« on: March 21, 2021, 09:44:26 PM »
How many would be up for a ride around lake Superior?  Would be a 2300kms or 1450miles around the lake and would require a passport for the Canadian portion.  Stay in motels and eat in restaurants.

It would probably need to be next year because of covid and planning logistics.  Just one of those things on the bucket list.

There use to be a motorcycle rally that did this very ride called the Wolf's head rally. They took it a step further and had the motels booked and took your luggage in a van to the next destination. They also had a van for breakdown retrieval.

Not aware of anyone doing a scooter rally. What are your thoughts?

Having ridden around the lake at least 2 times or more, first time 1957, recent years also---no planning needed, just go.  Duluth good starting point.   US bike insurance good in Canada.   Can get cold along the lake even in summer/maybe not best weather in the world.   Eating/sleeping/gas no problem. Do not hurry.

Sounds like a fun ride but the list of rides I want to do is already so long that my calender is pretty full for the next few years.
