Bacxk home where it belongs
« on: March 31, 2021, 09:43:08 PM »
Yesterday's (Tuesday's) temps in NE Ohio were forecast to be in the mid-to-upper 70's.  So, Monday evening I told my wife that I wanted to pick up the scoot on Tuesday from my friend's garage, where it's been sleeping all winter.  I called my friend and we made arrangements for me to come over about 4:00 to get the bike.  I knew I would probably have to jump start the battery, since I didn't put a battery tender on it.  We got to my friend's house, and yep, bike turned over a couple of times then crapped out.  I pulled out the trusty jumper cables I carry in my trunk box (plus my wife had cables in her car, and my friend had two sets in his garage), connected them to the scoot's battery and my wife's car, she started her car and the scoot fired up right away.  The battery wasn't as drained as I expected it to be.  It did indeed hit 77 yesterday afternoon, so instead of heading straight home, I went for a short, very pleasant ride.  Right now, it's 46 degrees.  Tomorrow is supposed to be about 32 with 1 - 4 inches of snow, Friday, it's going to be in the mid 30's, with a gradual warm yp over the weekend.  Monday is forecast to be in the low 60's.

So the scoot will stay dry and happy in my garage, with a newly installed Battery Tender.  Hopefully, we'll go for a ride Monday.

But it's good the have the scoot back home, where I can see it and fire it up whenever I feel like it!

Hopefully you checked the tire pressure, they tend to lose a little over winter.

I'll be doing that when I take the scoot out Monday.  All the fluids are at appropriate levels, and now the battery is at 13.2 volts.  So, once the tires are checked, I should be good for the season.  Thanks.

Yep, I posted it last year in the GV 250 thread.  Second page, thread is titled New Used GV 250.

For some reason I'm having difficulty posting pics now.  Suggestions?  Thanks.
