I will try to make this as clear as I can...

I have a Kymco 150cc extended case motor that I purchased for a project, I have no wiring harness, sadly. I have a chinese gy6 150cc scooter that has a dead engine, crank seized.

The Kymco engine has 3 wires from the stator, Yellow and White, the pulser is Blue.

The busted engine has 5 wires, Yellow, White, Green, Red/black, and Yellow/blue.

I am guessing the Kymco is a DC stator, probably 8 poles.

Question is:  Can I replace the Kymco DC stator with an AC stator? If so, do I have to replace it with the same number of poles? Or, can I 'upgrade' to 11? Does this also mean a flywheel change?

I don't want to have to redo all the wiring, regulater/rectifier, CDI to make a DC stator work in this now frankensteined scooter.  Hoping the AC stator replacement will be the easy way to make this work.

Thank you for any insights!!
