Ok, the results are in.
Here is what I recorded with my GPS this evening:
Speedo - GPS (Actual)
10 - 10
20 - 20
30 - 24-25
40 - 34
50 - 43-44
60 - 52
Top speed run- 56 MPH on GPS (Flat, about 1/4 mile run, no wind, 215 lbs (me). Ran 3 times. Holds 34-40 on steep hills, but was WOT.
All speeds are in MPH. Pretty much what I thought. I never heard of a scoot with very accurate indicators. Still has some nice torque especially for a stock 125cc. I still say for the money, this is one heck of a scooter. Gets me to work with no issues and is perfect for errands around town. NOT good for 2 up riding or faster roads...but still has the "little extra" in the throttle to pull away. 40-45 MPH seems to be the sweet spot. Still better than any Chinese GY-6 "150cc" I have ever ridden. You can tell that Kymco has this motor set up much better. I am tempted to throw some upgrades at it (bigger jet/carb, new pipe) but A) can't confirm which parts/mods would fit and B) I then defeat the purpose of having such a great little inexpensive scooter. I have been down the "mod road" before and it is expensive and in the end all that time and money for an additional 4-5 MPH ain't worth it for me. I will continue to enjoy this for what it is.
Hope that helps anyone who wanted to know.
Be safe
