Bull-it SR6 Covec armored riding pants review
« on: April 23, 2021, 06:28:27 PM »

(Well, it won't be a "crash test".....perhaps my heirs can provide that some day.)

Took 3 tries to get a good fit through the mail. (no, my local shop doesn't stock these - probably because they are NOS most places these days)

But, happy with this pair. Good fit, D-3O armor pads sit well in their pockets at the hip and knee. A liner of "Covec" material covers a lot of the likely 'road rash' areas, front, back and sides. Covec has high abrasion & cut resistance, high melting point and is non flammable. Unlike Aramids - Covec has a much lower flex fatigue and is much less affected by sweat, washing and "wearing'.

My 9yr old Slider jeans with Kevlar/Aramid seat panels were aging somewhat - even though, or perhaps because?,  they'd never been washed.

The Covec layer is much thicker than the Aramid in my Sliders.

One bonus is the tiny bit of expand-o in the weave....welcomed now that I'm no long 19.

"Do they feel bulky?"
No, I feel softly encased.
I rode in the car & wore them for 2 days (without the D-3O) around town with no issues.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Do you always wear armored riding pants in your car?

I suppose that's better than not wearing any pants in your car.  :o

I had to pull the knee armor out of my kevlar jeans because it would fall too low down on my shin so I end up wearing my riding jeans without any armor, which is not ideal. My go to is my Bohn armorer base layer (knee, shin, hip, thigh and tailbone armor) under my textile riding pants on my motorcycle.

Is the knee armor placement adjustable on those jeans, Stig?

No it isn't. But after I bought the longer inseam - the pads sit just right. Low for walking - perfect for riding.
It's not far from my scooter to my table😊
Actually,  I do stroll into 3 different coffee shops and the grocers. ....in my helmet. A matter of only  2 blocks.
