LIKE 200i mirrors upgrade
« on: April 26, 2021, 03:23:51 PM »
Stig in one of his recent comments about long mirror stalks and turning eyes only to watch behind,  made me think about upgrading my OEM mirrors.
There was not really something available, on stalks, what would have given me the goose pimpels.
Well, I found a pair of "eyelet mount" mirrors here in Italy. Most probably anywhere to be found. Those have an E-number and look a little bit like Mickey Mouse's ears left on my scoot.
 (pls see pics)
BUT, no downtilt of my head anymore, just a light eye-turn to left or right.
At idle they shake a bit, but during driving not more than the other ones did.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Mirrors!?#$%&
Too often a problem!
One day I was looking at this photo of my Honda Forza and my son's Honda CB500X. We have the exact same mirrors - but his has a longer stem! BaddaBing! I bought a set and got rid of those horrible billet extenders you see here.

My Burgman 400 had the same problem. Then I found a motorcycle shop in the U.K. that sold these mirror stem extenders. About an inch and a half - they made all the difference, and blended perfectly with the stock stem. See the short chrome addition here...

I tried not to look goofy - then gave up! Thanks - now I don't feel alone.

You be Mickey....I'll be Marco, the Disney brother no one mentions at Xmas.

Stig
PS: my LIKE mirrors are from Italy, "FAR" brand....an Italian on ebay. Sells nothing but Italian mirrors.
PS: has the blue/white LIKE replaced the red/white LIKE?

@Stig, as you say, mirrors are a hassle. Though I think that I could live with this solution right now, even I think to change for estetical more approaching items. Spoils a little bit the overall pic, but its soooo convenient during driving.
Who would have thought that "Steamboat Willie" will be that famous once.
No no, both LIKEs might stay, each of those has different characteristics in sound, acceleration and travel speed.
And, as I wrote once, those scoots are so inexpensive to keep.....and fun to tinker with.

Dear Like-addicts,
I did it again. Since my blue LX was so convenient with its eleveted mirrors, the red one had to have it too.
That time I approached her from behind, the screen, and mounted them there. Does not make that much of difference, but its an other try (pls see pics).

Please share your purchase links for mirror replacements. I recently went down on my Like and broke the right side mirror. :(

All is well. Just need a new set.

Might take a look at eBay. Usually some used ones on there.
My extra long ones are very HTF these days. Ebay from fellow who sold only Italian mirrors. @$60 ea.

hope you're OK?

@Kymchi916,
bought my upper mirrors at Amazon.it (pls see pic), at this mirrors just the joint has to be removed and mounted on the upper screen fixing.

To replace your original mirrors just take any, which have a 8mm thread to mount. There are probably 100th on the market. Any with mentioned thread will fit. Both sides are righthand threads.

I ended up purchasing my right side from racingplanetusa.com. Came out to $36 with shipping.

... and I'm OK, thanks! Luckily I had all my gear on. ATG, ATT.

Thanks Ruffus, but I ended up going with one from racingplanetusa.com. I want to stick with the stock look.
