In my experience, over layer.  It's easier to strip off than layer up mid-ride.

Stig when I can get by with a mesh jacket is when I will ride early of a morning.  We are just now starting to get to warm weather 75F for highs this week. Mornings are still cool around 50F.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

That's close to my cut off temperature as well.  The cut off temperature for the Romeo riders is 50 degrees, below that the ride is postponed.

One thing I like about Ohio is the open vistas.
I visited Seattle 3 times - and really disliked it ....to the extent that I mentioned each visit how I disliked being closed in by the forests.

(well, once I stopped there for 3 days of yelling, marching, hurry up & waiting and floor waxing on my way to Vietnam - so that spoiled things)

I skipped the balaclava and overpants ---- but NOT the battery gloves :)

Stig if you like open Vistas,  have I got some back roads for you.  I like to have lunch in a town 14 miles away, I can see the grain elevator from the highway  blocks from my house.   Now I like lakes and trees with some nice curved roads as well, variety is the spice of life.

Under 40 degrees F....and you are planning on riding a long time---Riding suit and feather jacket/liner under, hands soon get cold without proper gloves mitts.  Boots that keep feet warm nice, too---proper windshield helps comfort.

Yes, KANSAS....you guys win the  V I S T A  Award.
Dino gives me all the variety I need.....at 6:45AM today it was ....I forget. But he rotates through maybe a doz. beans.

Then my daughter and I came back for breakfast burritos* from the UnderDog and drinks from Dinos.
I walked in without a helmet, and said, "A medium please - but, and this is embarrassing..."
Dino said, "what does she want today, Major Tom?" (no helmet means I'm in town with the family)

"A Caramel Snow-Storm"

"Ooooh!", and he laughed.

If you order a side of the Dog's hot sauce* with your burrito.....be careful with it.

Stig did (Miguel) sp? Mexican food restaurant survive the covid?  We have a abundance of new food trucks in town with a wide variety of foods. Most have very good food.  Japanese food by a Asian couple,  Mexican food by a Mexican family,  BBQ by a Caucasian family and a few others I haven't tried yet.  To be honest I never thought I would eat at a roach coach but all are inspected by the board of health in our town.

Yeah, he survived - by moving in to the old Williams Eatery (great pancakes on a winter's day!) which is now TrailTown Brewing.
Since we haven't eaten indoors in a year ('cept at home) we've no idea how it's going in there.
It was a heck of a lot more fun to buy from his truck and sit street-side - people-watching :)

If they ever bring back our furniture - maybe we can do take out from his new place.

We got as street-side as possible this morning. A little nippy but the breakfast burrito's hot sauce kept us warm!
