Ignition wire

I just bought a New ignition lock after someone tried to Steel my scooter.

But when i took out the old i could not see that the black wire was connected anywhere.

Is that ok not to connect that on the New as well?

Probably not OK, if it was part of the wire group leading up to the ignition - then it likely needs to be connected there.
Photos of what you have would help.
Old and new parts, and wire group.

My thought also.

But when i took the old one out, i could not see any wire or holes where the plug could fit.

And it seems to start and function ok?

you say it starts and runs OK?
Well, shoot - I see the same wiring on some used ignitions for the LIKE - with that lone B/W wire.
If it runs...... I got nothing better than that for you!

Yes, there is one black "leftover" cable. Not sure which model uses this as an appliance.
