Removing Plastic

With your tutorial I got the plastic removed. Two questions:

How did you get the bulbs out of the console, is there a trick? Mine are stuck pretty good and am afraid of damaging them.

Do you have any idea why the dashboard clock would stop working? Mine's been out for a while and I'd like to get it back.

Thanks Ruffus, that helps. Is there a trick to disconnecting the speedometer cable from the dash? I unscrewed the collar piece but the center wire remained connected to the dash preventing the cable from being disconnected.

I recently converted all of the instrument cluster bulbs to LED. The sockets were practicly glued in my spedometer, all I did was take a pair of curved needle nose pliers and wrapped the ends in electrical tape and slowly worked them out of the hole. Just make sure not to damage the wiring.

As far as the clock I believe it has an internal btton cell battery but im not sure if it can be removed non destructively.

I did that, and after removing the grooved nut it exposed a metal wire (running up the middle of the speedocable) which was still attached to (I assume) the gauge. After giving it a pull or two I was concerned about damaging something so I stopped. Don't know what the next step is.

You're right on track.
This speedo cable get stuck a little within its sheath.
Old grease might act as glue. Just wiggle gentle with pliers and pull it out.
NO spray using there, might come into your gauge and messes up!
