Finally ANGEL'd up, down there.
« on: June 09, 2021, 07:52:04 PM »
Following many months of trying to push string.....I finished getting my set of Angle Scooter tires installed.
I took the wheels to the dealer and they installed the new tires and new valve stems.

My wife is sad to see them go from the guest bedroom.....
I'm just glad the job is done....and that I'll be riding on Angels.

I very likely would have had a local dealer do the job - but they weren't keen on touching a scooter brand they do not sell.
They sell, Honda, Yamaha and Kymco scooters....and every kid of motorcycle.
50 & 75 miles to the Vespa dealers. No 'scooter shops' within 45 miles.
$80 plus tips.....and I'm glad it's over! I forget what I paid or the tires but they were cheaper than another pair of OEM Wammies, or Mashies - Sammies? --whatever they were.

@Stig, good you ride on "angels", best insurance ever.
But what I don't understand, what is those "Brand" dealers argumentation, not to work on a Piaggio?
Not that I would trust them with my scoot and let 'em work on it.
Here in Italy they would not even wink, and take you in.
And, BTW, I paid a couple of months ago for mounting, balancing and disposal of my old tyre €15,- incl. VAT. Wheel brought into workshop by me.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

The dealer I use charges $25. a wheel to mount and balance a tire and $70 on the bike .  His price on tires is competitive with ebay so I use him for everything.  Take a scooter in have the tires changed , coolant flush and brake fluid flush.  Anymore just change my own oil/filter and gear lube.

I wait until winter when his shop isn't busy drop one scooter off then when done exchange with another scooter, usually a two day turnaround.  Spring , summer  and fall the shop is busy and can take a lot longer.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

I tried Angels on my Like 150i.  I'm switching back to Michelins.  My rear Angel wore out in about 4600 miles compared to 5400 miles on the City Grip.  It also had a rougher ride.  When the front angle wears out I'll try a Power pure.

Different riding styles!
I changed out my LIKE200i's rear Michelin City Grip at 10,800 miles.....still with usable tread. Changed the front after 15,000 or so.

I hope to get 4 or 5 years out of the Angel.
