Years ago - when working at on a psychiatric wing of a city hospital in Massachusetts - we used to be able to call-off work in order to take a "mental health day". Rather than fibbing & calling in "sick" - you just phoned the nurses station to take a MHD. We were given like 3 a year...
Anyway - a group of us liked to pile into a friend's big Audi and head to the beach to watch the sunrise. We always stopped at a Dunkin Donuts shop to get provisions and use the pay phone out front to call the hospital. One morning the head nurse answered the phone, and quickly said "Tom, you're at Dunkin's aren't you - I can hear the waves crashing - ....taking an MHD?" (she'd been with us a couple of times)
One morning....a nurse (Kelly) went in to use the ladies room at Dunkins.
Kelly was unfailingly kind - so I was surprised when, as we were leaving, she spoke to the young gal behind the counter - something about the ladies room.
Later, as we were sitting in the sand watching the sun come up, another nurse noticed that Kelly's big diamond engagement ring was missing!!
Kelly told her to relax, "I told the Dunkin girl I'd left something on the sink for her."
For months she'd been trying to refuse an engagement with a very wealthy doctor who would not take "no". Guy was a jerk, and a stalker (we didn't have a name for it in those days) . He refused to take the ring back. I don't know diamonds - but that stone was big.
No one said anything for several seconds. Bill stirred & Kelly took hold of his arm and said,
"Don't even think about it!!" (Bill's Audi needed brakes. Again
In big Mass. snows I'd wake my wife and say, "Let's make a run to Dunkins and see if we can get the (VW) bus stuck again!"

When we vacation in St Pete beach FL., I always wake and head to Dunkins for coffee and then head to a small park to watch the gulf at sunrise. (yeah, it comes up behind me - still there's nothing I like more than being at the ocean when the sun is coming up.
Sometimes I can get an accomplice to join me!
