today is the day! The Helix is all put back together and ready to ride (but of course it's raining / misting out...ugh..)
It finally looks the way I expect it to look...clean, shiny, and ready to go.
Things done?
changed all fluids, filters and plug
new tires
new brakes
new shock mount bushings
dyed floor plastics black
compounded and polished painted body panels, top coated with hyrbrid ceramic wax
new fuel filter and fuel lines
lubed speedo cable and regreased front speedo gear on fr wheel
cleaned and polished both wheels
cleaned and regreased turn signal switch
new rear led stop lamp
painted cvt cover
painted muffler and header pipe, new gaskets
new oil seals and bearing in swingarm, and painted it
cleaned everything!
new Dr Pulley sliders
new belt
sanded clutch pads
new grease on variator and driven pulley needle bearings
new windscreen
disassembled and cleaned rear light/turn signal assembly
and probably a few more things I can't recall....but when I got the last piece on this morning It almost brought a tear to my eye...it's been almost 4 weeks since I've had it torn down (is that like 4 years in 'scooter years'?) and unrideable..the feeling of satisfaction was overwhelming.
I did start it earlier this morning to make sure everything was good before I started assembly. took some cranking since I'd drained the carb bowl and also all the fuel lines and filter for replacement.
As soon as I know it's dry I'm hopping on my scoot and riding off into the sunset with a big old grin on my face.....
