Replacing tire valve stem from outside the rim
« on: June 25, 2021, 08:56:40 PM »

I've been exploring how to keep from removing my wheel to replace a broken tire valve (broken recently by a local dealer)
It seems I have options, if I do not want to collapse the tire and install from the inside.
The consensus seems to be that often these quick fixes can be permanent.
Worst case - it leaks, and you take traditional steps.

Then there is this method...

and this one....

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

You know, after looking at them....during many construction projects I used hardware just like these things when mounting or fixing things to concrete.
Drill a hole, insert and tighten to expand & secure.. Have hung very heavy items, very high up, from these fittings - no reason they can't hold a little air!
