Ok... well, I thought the axle was like mine... its not.

The important thing is to make sure that when you everything is tight, that the caliper body is aligned parallel to the brake disk and does not contact the disk.

No problem, TechGuy. I looked back through the posts and tried again to download the service manual from that link you had, but I still can't. I got some weird message I didn't understand from this new operating system so I'm not sure what I would have to download in order to be able to download it. ???

I am going to try to assemble and line up everything properly so that caliper and plate is better positioned and check to see if it is hitting the disc if I do hear noise again. Will let you know how it goes. And just to let you know...some of those black marks came off of the disc when I used that brake clean stuff. Possibly after a few applications it may look much better?

Try one of the green or blue scrubby pads...

I'm in luck if you mean 3M Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads. I've got exactly 2 left! :)

Oh, that allen wrench?

It hadn't realized that you ever got it out after the first time!

Yeah, that first time I had to wait until the next morning. I was too frustrated. I got it out this time.

Okay. (My back is killing me!) It's all together. And...

I can hear the rotor rolling through the pads, but not a loud noise this time. The tire spins around a few times now and stops when I spin it. It does not catch and try to stop like it did before. I won't know 100% for certain until tomorrow when I take it out, but we may have success. :)

You're right, Hoolander! It's wonderful, too! I was hopin' to get up and get an early start today, but my back just didn't allow it. Probably for the best anyway. I think everyone in neighborhood decided to rush home early from church today and get out their leaf blowers. I have to go through 2 neighbors' yards (sometimes 3 depending on where folks park their cars) so I'll be checking it all out as soon as they're all done. Feels good seeing the scoot all put back together and the front fender on again and ready to roll! Will post how it goes.  :)

Grrr...now it won't start. I should have seen that one coming, right??  :'(  So it goes. I tried hitting the throttle a bit since it's been sitting awhile, but the throttle grip doesn't seem to be making contact or whatever when I turn it. Maybe I pinched a wire or something when I put those handlebar covers back on? I'm sure it's because the weather is so great today and I really want to get a few rides in while it's still warm. On a brighter note, I found the missing files I needed to download the rar files for that other manual and I can actually search for words in that one (like throttle... :).) Off I go to do some more investigating...
