Rest of my helmet came .....
« on: July 06, 2021, 08:16:03 PM »
Neck gaiter for cold riding, snaps into the helmet. Comes with two bungee chord things for the skinny necked bunch (with a XXXL head??!...be a bit wobbly, wouldn't he?)
With the chin pad snapped in place - this thing should be warm on frigid morning rides!
The 2 bits really seal it around the neck.....but s o f t l y !
They each have a reflective piping ....making it easier to locate me in the shrubbery should I get deered some rainy night!

Pad took 6 days from Chicago - Helmet took 4 days from The Netherlands. Fewer shootings to detour around in Holland.

Had a few days riding recently with an old Dainese helmet instead of my LS2 system one and the noise reduction is noticeable. Just down to the plusher padding or shell differences flip front vs full face?  My guess is the latter.

Update:  The Dainese helmet has had to be retired I'm afraid  :(  I only really resurrected it out of curiosity (noise test comparison as above) a while back as it had been my "best" helmet for a while -  and had virtually been stored in cotton wool; but then I noticed yesterday some powdery substance from the lining breaking down!  Did the sums and realised I must have bought it in the early '90's!  So RIP to my under-utilised Neil Hodgson replica.

hope it's earned a nice resting spot on a display shelf, somewhere in your home

Suggested the mantle shelf in the lounge, but overruled by my long suffering wife!  So, garage it is.
