is your internet acting slow?
« on: October 24, 2010, 04:00:59 PM »
Another member mentioned the internet being slow all week.  Mine has been horrible here in south Georgia.  Started after Microsoft's updates Tuesday last week.  Pages wont display on the first try -- email won't receive on first try.

Anyone else?

Yes, Hoolander!

Mine always has some issues because of loose wire connections and humidity in the lines being surrounded by woods here. (The humidity part really doesn't make much sense to me...should be a solution if you pay for the service...but that's the answer I always get if I try to have company provide a solution.) But, it has been terrible this week here too!! And yes, I do remember an update in the past week.  :-[

OH, and yes, pages say they are loading, but never do until I reset the connection and try again. Email too. Says it's connecting, but doesn't unless I close it and try again, sometimes several times.

I have both a Mac and a PC.  The Windows updates have created problems for us in the past.

Won't be buying another PC....

If you have a problem after an update, use "restore" to get back to before the update.

Ok, thanks Rianna, Word and all.  Just wondered if I was only one.  I can't complain too much about my Windows XP.  5 years old and still does fine most of the time.  I'll give MS a week or so and see if they come out with a fix for their fixes.  :D  Then try a restore.

My computer is a 5 year old Sharp AL 27 notebook.  Outdated in terms of memory and hard drive but still works great.  Has a super bright glossy screen which I really love.
