Following anyone in the Scooter Cannon Ball?
« on: July 11, 2021, 05:38:29 PM »
I've got a couple of Forzas to watch and some Super Cubs and a Liberty, and a LIKE150i!
I am pretty certain one of the Forzas is the one I sold a couple of years ago!
Max 280CC's ...so the Forza just slips in @279.31cc's

I love this guy's rig! 4,500 miles on a Super Cub! Hope he's a real little dude!

I know of at least four Honda ADV 150s in the event, so will be watching those. All are members of the ADV 150 groups I am part of on Facebook, so will get to see their photos/updates.

Best wishes to everyone in the vent. Driving cross country in a scooter is no joke!

I have met at least three of this years contestants and have interacted with several others on the Adventure rider forums.  Last year when they postponed the Cannonball three of the riders came to my Maggie Valley Scooter ride.  All three of those riders have finished the first three stages and one of them is in 5th place.

There is one guy who ride his Honda Super Cub from California to Bar Harbor just to get to the start.  He is currently in 3rd place.

The guy on the Like 150i (actually 172cc) is currently in 10th place.

That is smazing sbout that Super Cub crossing the USA. What an adventure!
I really like smaller displacement bikes doing big things.
There was a couple on SYM forum who'd each passed something  like 60,000 miles on their 125's.

The guy on the Super Cub has a history of doing long rides on tiny bikes.  This is his third Cannonball.  He put something like 85,000 miles on a Honda Elite 110.

His ride report for this Trip is here:  https://advrider.com/f/threads/another-journey-of-solace.1508893/

I watched his youtube of valve check. I was jumping around at my desk - he wasn't at correct TDC and was starting to loosen the lock nut!
Fortunately he discovered his mistake. Very hard to follow the commentary of his videos - but wishing him well. Question running tube type tires across the USA with no tube in them! Strange decision!

What a grueling ride.  Can't imagine doing 500 miles in a day, never mind 10 days in a row (I know, not all 500 mile days, but still).

Then I thought about the Race Across America, where they pedal 10 speeds, and do it in less time than the Cannonball riders!  People are nuts.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here

I can imagine doing one 500 mile day on the scooter , it's the other 9 500 mile days that I would have a issue with.

My thoughts exactly!  I'm sure I'd need at least a coupla days off before wanting to torture my rear end all over again...
