What a grueling ride.  Can't imagine doing 500 miles in a day, never mind 10 days in a row (I know, not all 500 mile days, but still).

Then I thought about the Race Across America, where they pedal 10 speeds, and do it in less time than the Cannonball riders!  People are nuts.

That race is around 3000 miles, not 4500 miles.  Only one rider has done it in less than 10 days.  That's still insane but no bicycle rider could do this route in 10 days.

I thought about doing this event but after thinking about doing 10 consecutive really long days I decided it just wouldn't be fun.  Like others have said, one 450 mile day on a scooter wouldn't be bad but doing it 10 times would be too much.

BTW, the guy on the Super Cub in second place won the Cannonball back in 2014 on a Honda CT110!

The remaining stages of this race are on higher speed roads and some mountains to cross.  This should favor the bigger scooters but at this point the smaller scooters are doing real good.  Ist, 2nd and third place are 155cc, 125cc and 124cc.

Every year 2 or 3 riders finish under 10 days, usually under 9 days wins it.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here

Today was an extremely tough stage, 526 miles, 65 of those dirt/gravel and two 10,000 foot elevation passes.  One guy decided to sell his scooter to a dealer and fly home.

Who won the Cannonball  scooter rally?  I just can't imagine spending that much time in the saddle.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

Klav....
The rider on the new Honda Cub clocked 10,000+ miles from SoCal to Maine for the start of the race - and back to Cal during the race.
Couple of crashes....but bike ran fine.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
