Filtering in Calif.
« on: July 14, 2021, 11:44:00 PM »
Couldn't do that on my small scooters!
Looks very much like my son's CB500X* (I put the X's mirrors on my Forza - worked great!)

You California riders are something else!
Stig

*the 500X is an amazingly tractable bike....next to impossible to stall. Comfy upright riding position and good seat.

That was similar to the CHP mounted officer to me in the late 60's introducing me to lane splitting!

Hey, a cop with common sense!  TBH most of the UK motorcycle cops are just the same, you've got to be riding like a knob to get done by them.  In my youth I once got off a three figure speeding indiscretion with a severe rollocking.  And that was in Avon & Somerset County's Constabulary area, renowned for their draconian enforcement of traffic law.
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

Here, we have speed traps, where local elected official set speed limits so slow (not in accoedance with law!) as to produce revenue. I got nailed one summer day in one notorious for "no escape, no consideration" but got a verbal warning because:
1. Both hands out the window with fingers wiggling
2. Admitted up front I missed TWO speed signs!
He figured that anyone that hot and sweaty in a dirty John Deere suit that would miss two speed signs musta been so stupid as to need a break!

I've been ticketed twice.
50+ yrs ago - In the Army at Ft Sam Houston I didn't put a foot down at a stop sign on my Honda CB350.
@ 1976, Xmas Eve -  clocked at 78mph in my '73 Beetle. Owner's manual said cruising & max speed was 73. I framed the citation!

Stig
I did get one "speed up!" on the Mass. turnpike by a passing patrolman one time. I was breaking in my new 71 Beetle.

A ticket for not putting a foot down! Shoiulda got an award!

Had a fellow Navy student at KU get a speeder ticket in his '62 VW on Kansas Turnpike. This guy was a little nuts anyway so he tells the cop there is no way his v-dub could go that fast. Cop says he was doing 79-80 whatever. The guy tosses the keys to the cop and says, you do it and I sign the ticket! Cop says, "You'll sign the ticket, anyway!"
