Drive Belt Info
« on: July 22, 2021, 11:04:24 PM »
Hi Guys,

I spent an entire day searching for a drive belt on Monday. It was almost impossible to find. To save you the trouble I'm here to reveal my findings. A Bando 781 / 20 / 30 will work. $50 on Amazon. Apparently an 800 Malossi will work too.

thanks, I'm sure someone will appreciate that info! I had to look up the Movie 150 as I wasn't familiar with it. It looks like a very nice 150cc scoot with some nice touches (led lighting, 4 valve head, rear disc). I also see it was only imported to the US market in '13 and '14, making it very rare, I'm sure.

Was this motor ever shared with any other Kymco scoot?

It's a hell of a nice scooter. But it's so rare that most shops haven't even heard of it. I think it shares the same 4-valve engine as the Like 150i, minus the fuel injection.

Hi,
when is the belt due for replacement? I have 3600 miles on my (new to me) Movie 150 that I just got and I do not know the history.  I am going to assume that it has never been checked or replaced.

@Rey, judgement depends on your experience with CVTs. With this milage shouldn't be that much of tear and wear on your belt.  Except there would be a lot of rubber dust visible. But since the scoot is 9 years old, I would check rollers and clutch too.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus
