Fuel pump 150i abs

My 2019 150i ABS is running poorly. Dealer says fuel pressure is 28psi, that's too low(?)  The new pump is on backorder, 8 weeks or more before delivery.  Is there an aftermarket pump that will work? Or any other suggestions?

I replaced the fuel pump in my 200i years ago by removing it, taking measurements, and searching one to match the specs and appearance on ebay.
I ended up installing a pump made for Yamaha motorcycles. It's been working great.
The Kymco pump sold only as a $200 "assembly".
I just installed my new ($60) pump into the Kymco assembly.

Could the old pump remain in place and just install an inline (Quantum or similar) pump?  Seems like it should be able to draw fuel through the check valves in the old pump.

The original pump developes and maintains anywhere from 45 to 90 psi depending on model. It must be submerged for cooling. I am now assuming an "in line pump" is one of those auto parts store things that pump gas to a carburettor. That won't work if that is what you mean by "in line pump."

Okay, I looked up "quantum" and got this:

Yes, that would work as they say it is external. The reviews are pretty positive but one reviewer said pressure is 120 to 135 psi and he could not control it. A cheaper Amazon pump for $35 was better in his estimation. What produces whatever the Like 150i specs for pressure should work. But priming may be a problem at least at first.

Your scooter is not still under the 2 yr fully transferable warranty??

Apparently this is what the LIKE150i fuel pump looks like.



I do not know where it is in a LIKE150i....tank is in the floor, yes?
I'd try to get it into my hands, and have a look at replacing just the silver/metal pump with a proper replacement and back into the tank.

It's  still under warranty - barely. But it's been in the shop 6 weeks already and now they say at least 6 more weeks (pump is on b/o).  I used to be a small engine mechanic so I'm about ready to go pick up the bike and work on it myself before summer is over.

With your shop experience I would do what Tom did with the Yamaha pump cartridge. There can't be much difference in pressure between a 150 and a 163 (200i).

After 4 months, the fuel pump came in but no improvement. Obviously the dealer didn't diagnose it properly. Now they will try a new throttle body and computer. Hope it doesn't take another 4 months t get those.

They are guessing and throwing pwrts at it! As long as this is a warranty repair and not on your nickle, who cares? But I would bet you could figger it out with your small engine experience.

Why am I not surprised the dealer tech is guessing....dealer tech did not diagnose properly is being really kind!

@Philtuck, this pump is here in Italy the replacement for a failing LIKEs fuelpump. Must be available from YAM/HONDA/SUZUKI, etc. within USA too.

You have to make sure your "dealer" is using proper electronic diagnostic tools.  There's no way to diagnose a F/I motor without diagnostics.  The tools are rented or leased from the manufacturer, and some shops try to get by without the tools.
