Sold 22,000 the first day!?

Top Gear guy said today that the 1st day the Ford Mustang went on sale - 22,000 orders were placed!

In 1973 I had a green '67 Mustang convertible, automatic, with the 289 V8. Drove it year around in Mass. with the top down.
Neighborhood kids stole it twice - because I never locked it (they'd only cut the top!)
Great running little car, and certainly my favorite ever American car....before they began beefing it ruinously @ 1968.

Just loved the shape, styling and size of it. Nice for cruising the Berkshires....

my younger brother had a '70 2+2 302w3spd, yellow, was not the Boss302 model,  after just 3 years of northern New England it was a rust bucket, front subframe couldn't keep the suspension in alignment, a POS that wouldn't pass state inspection

I have a hard time believing you use any more salt than we do, although some communities are going to beet juice, or calcium chloride, most are still using magnesium chloride, or sodium chloride, I can't grow a hemlock hedge at the edge of my drive, I have to replant with something salt tolerant

Yeah ours must be sodium based too, as on a dry winter's day after a ride I can taste it on my lips!
