Engine oil mesh filter? and Spark plug question
« on: August 19, 2021, 07:15:33 PM »
Sorry for all the noob questions but looking at my manual, I see Engine Oil, Engine oil Filter, Engine Oil screen and oil mesh filter.  I've replaced the oil, filter, and cleaned the screen but what the heeck is the mesh filter ? and where can I find it?

And secondly, the spark plug is in such a difficult place to reach and since it extends out, I'm guessing I can't use the typical socket to remove.  Do I need to buy like an elongated socket thing that has a deep ... I don't really know the name of it but something long that can extend past the spark plug in order to remove it? Or do I need to find a small mini wrench ?

Thanks guys

You need either a "sparkplug socket" or use the one in the tool kit supplied with the bike. The tool kit is USUALLY strapped to the underside of the seat toward the rear.

You said you cleaned the oil screen. But wonder where the mesh filter is located. Well, there is a screen strainer thingy behind that black plastic 17 mm hex head bolt-lookin' thing just forward of the oil drain. Now, an oil screen, I need to learn where that is...

Ah! Okay, yeah that black bolt next to the oil drain bolt is what I cleaned.  I thought that was the oil screen.  Okay, so yeah where is the Oil Screen?? haha
