electronic carburator? missing O2 sensor?
« on: August 23, 2021, 08:40:23 AM »
hello my scooter is bogging at low speed and wanted to change the mixture but my carburator looks different then other ones i found. mine has a screw vertical which seems stuck and im afraid to snap, according to search results its an electronic carburator but i find it hard to believe this is an full injection, this is mine

i also think the previous owner removed the O2 sensor and also my cdi has a purple wire cut.

is it possible my scooter is bogging because of O2 sensor missing? is that the purple wire? could i install an older carburator wich has manual mixture screw? and should i then also need another cdi?

what CC? if it is bogging at low speeds its probably due to the pilot jet either being clogged or filed with bad gas. As far as I am aware for the standard kymco 125cc carb is not electronic but uses a vacuum system to move the diaphragm . I highly doubt the o2 sensor is causing the engine to stall. the whole purpose of the 02 sensor is for emissions testing. Try installing a standard vacuum operated carb.

I agree with Aschrauth...bogging at low speed is more likely to be a clogged pilot jet. Have you pulled the bowl to clean the jet? the hole in it is tiny and can easily clog.

As far an an electronic carb...the only thing that looks electronic may be a throttle position sensor? Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like there is a black, plastic tps next to the butterfly. Other than that, it is a normal carb.

My scoot is carbureted and also has the fittings for the O2 sensor....I assumed that is because in some markets these scoots are fuel injected so they'd need a sensor.

Forgot to mention the Idle enricher is the only part that uses 12 volts on the standard carb.

thanks for answering,  i learned my scooter has no O2 sensor at all and what i meant with electronic carburator is that mine has a tps sensor, i got a much bigger problem last week my engine seemed to break down completly by making a horrible noise as if metal parts broke lose inside my engine itself.
i disasembled the engine from the scooter and remove the cylinder head and nothing seems to be broke except a leaking head gasket, can this cause a horrible sound? my engine sounded as if entire gears broke lose in half inside my engine but if u turn my engine by hand it does not make any sound. before this all happened i was testing how my engine performed with disconnected tps sensor cable, but i dont think this can cause the engine problems.

i ordered a new gasket set on Aliexpress, my scooter is 150cc Agility City it has TPS sensor and a 7/8 pin DC cdi. previous owner cut a wire .
