One handed seat open mod
« on: September 06, 2021, 04:15:56 AM »
I dunno if this bugs anyone else but I kept finding myself wanting to open the underseat storage compartment on my agility 125 with one hand, like I am holding something (helmet, groceries, etc) but you have to lift the seat at the same time as turn the key to open it.

So I stuck a couple small springs under the latch hook and now it pops up slightly above the latch when I turn the key, allowing me to open it *after* turning the key instead of simultaneously.

In case the photo isn’t viewable, I just loosened the bolts holding the latch hook to the underside of the seat, Jammed the first couple coils of some small springs under it, and tightened it back down to hold the springs in place. I also put some tape on the ends of the coils to help them stay in alignment because the lip of the compartment they push against is narrow and they kept wanting to slide off.

That’s it! This has been my biggest gripe about the agility so far and it was so easy to improve.

Be careful that you dont force the seat down  with something jamming it preventing it from closing, learned this the hard way and the metel latch that locks the seat bent  tand it would no longer lock. Afterword had to take the whole lock assembly apart tp get it to latch again because the spring in the locking mechanism was not properly closing. Boy was that fun, then on top of that I accidently locked the keys in the seat bcket so I had to disesemble plastic pannels with the seat closed...... It aint easy but can be done.Eventually pulled the locking cable and the seat opened. That was not a fun day. Post pictures of the mod, im curious on how it works.
