Speedometer messed up?
« on: October 28, 2010, 01:04:17 AM »
Pedro, this is what the speedometer stuff looks like now. I could not get a pic to come out clear of the cable end, but I did try!

And here's the rest. Sorry they didn't come out too good.

Did you find any metal shavings in the speedo parts?

No...just a bunch of grease collected on the bottom part under that gear. I guess I could wipe it out and make sure there's none down in there, though.

no, it's supposed to be greased up.  do you recall if your speedometer was working when you disassembled your scoot?  If it was, then I'd say the speedo is probably fine.

Yeah, it was working. I checked and it's only grease down in there. No metal flakes. And that little gear bar thing is spinning.

Thanks, pedro. You scared me for a second there. I didn't want another thing I had to replace.  :D

Nah, not a chance. I do check everything you suggest, though.

It was pretty nasty over here.  A couple of confirmed tornadoes in Richmond and Henrico.   :o

Good thing!

All these issues are plausible problems and you are wise to check them out to be sure - especially while you have things apart.  There's a lot of people with great knowledge on the forum so I'm learning a lot from listening in.

Seems like that rotor is the likely culprit - hopefully you'll be able to resolve that soon.

Hey did y'all get that storm your way?

We've had tornado watches last night and today, but so far just rain - heavy at times.
