..so i finally get a bit of time to try to get this $125.00 scooter engine running...
..spent an hour or so repairing the f***ing mangled wiring..and i DO mean f***ing mangled..!
..looked like somebody took a chainsaw to the wiring beneath the floorboard panel...
 :-\
..nothing else damaged, other than ALL the remaining tupperware..
..no fuel in the tank, but the carb smelled of old spoiled fuel...
..added fuel, drained out a bit to get rid of the trash..all's well in th' tank..petcock works well..
..swapped in the 08 carb, cause i wasn't AT ALL into cleaning the 09's today..
..put in a new plug, (the old plug was a good deep tan color) and turned it over..
..turns great, but no firing..pulled plug and checked fire..looks GREAT!!
..i notice fuel collecting below the carb's intake port...
..pulled the petcock vac line, and turn the engine over...
..feel air BLOWING out the T from the intake...i'm like, WTF?!..
..so, i stick my finger over the exhaust and turn it over...
..sucks my finger into the exhaust...

 ???


..reckon the timing is off 180 degrees??

I WOULD THINK ITS 180 OUT OR UR TURNING THE MOTOR THE WRONG WAY LOL!!!

Someone screwed up, Your cam timing is messed up.
Dont know what type engine you are working on but I know with the GY6 the timing goes like this.

Cam sprocket has 3 holes in it.
Align the 2 holes with the base of the head and the 3rd hole is at 12 oclock. Holes should make a triangle when looking with the valve cover off
On the flywheel you have timing marks and hopefully a mark with TDC you can confirm this by making sure the piston is at TDC by removing the spark plug.
You are 180 out!

NO, by cranking the engine the opposite way will not create a vacuum on the exhaust.
Basically your exhaust valve is opening when the piston is heading towards the BDC (down stroke)
check timing. hope you didnt bend a valve..

...yeah, i have set timing a cpl times ..

..this is an agility 50..2009 with 3800 kms..bought it dead in th' water for $125.00...

..tupperware beat all to hell, and a lot of wiring creatively modified, to the point of not operable...

..my first thought was 180 off..but that was not the case....

I am not sure how you are checking the timing. But if you want to ensure this and its true that you have vacuum on the exhaust when cranking the engine then its 180 out.

Pull the valve cover off.
Open the access to the flywheel to be able to turn it by hand.
Remove the spark plug.
Turn the flywheel by hand.
When the piston is moving down look at the rocker arm on the exhaust valve.

The exhaust valve should NOT compress on the down stroke of the piston the intake should.

Perform this procedure and report back with your results.

..my dad hit it right off, when i asked him..

..i argued with him that i didn't see how, what he told me was wrong with the scoot, could be the problem...

..turns out he was dead right..

..i owe him a 12-pack....

..fuel was blowing out the carb's intake....some..

..air was blowing out the vacuum lines..sucking in the exhaust pipe...



..the intake valve was adjusted so that it could never close...
