I imagine a 550cc bike is fun - but wouldn't something like a Honda Super Cub C125 be more economical to operate for delivering around town?

For sure if i worked the downtown Austin zone more than i do...but i try and cater to the disgustingly wealthy areas a bit up north. Round Rock and Cedar Park. So i end up doing a lot of freeway and tollway miles and you know how liberal texas is when it comes to speed limits!
When i started, i had gotten a 2007 chinese 250 Benzhao Honda Reflex clone and while it did work, it had to work REALLY hard to get the job done and it was actually extremely terrifying. Just wasnt made for those speeds even though it would do them.
Then i switched to the 2007 Yamaha Majesty 400. Made all the difference in the world. Delivered over 50,000 miles on that one.
But yer absolutely right...a smaller bike like that would be ideal for urban delivery. Surprisingly, I've only encountered one other person using a bike for delivery though. Couple nights ago. An enormous old lady on this little tiny scooter! She had my respect instantly.
