Would love to know what the 2 rubber things are that came in the little tool kit with the new AK 550 I bought....they have a rounded point on each end and look like they are supposed to slip over or on something...no idea what they are but I am sure they are not a tool....LOL

Do they look about the same size and shape as the base of the mirror stalks where they go into the fairing?
Likely those are the original inserts for those openings. Some owners, especially in Asia where mirrors are not required (don't know why on earth you wouldn't want them but there it is), remove the mirror stalks and put those back in the openings. The AK comes from the factory with those in place and they are taken out to put on the mirrors. The dealer SHOULD put them with the bike when it is sold. My dealer didn't. I'm not too concerned though since I don't see myself removing the OEM mirrors. Don't see myself putting on after market mirrors on the handlebars either. I haven't had handlebar mounted mirrors since 2002 when I sold my Vulcan 750.

It's not that a T handle is quicker, but it is simpler and packs smaller and lighter. And it is much quicker than a wrench. I have more leverage with the T handle than a small socket ratchet when I put the socket on one of the shorter legs. What I wanted was to be able to get a socket to reach down into the windshield brackets to remove those bolts that are recessed. So I needed thin wall sockets as well, and no box or open ended wrench would work for that. I initially did use my small ratchet handle with an extension as well as the right socket but the ratchet handle with the extension was bigger and heavier and not as long as just the T handle with a socket. So the T handle ends up being more versatile for me.

BTW, do you already have the mirror coming for sure? Which side?
I have a spare right side mirror stalk with mirror and base that I picked up from someone either here or on another scooter forum for the cost to ship it to me. The mirror does have some blemishes/scratches on the bezel but the glass is good. I just put it on my shelf in the garage in its box and there it sits. I haven't really looked it over much but it does seem to be in very usable condition.

I hear you loud and clear about using the T-handle and completely understand. Thank You!

Yes, the mirror is from Ebay and it was listed at $125 but offered the option of Making An Offer...which I did....and they sold it to me for $75....could I have gotten it cheaper from them?....I bet so....but I did not want to push my luck with my offer....LOL.....I can't believe when my mirror broke off it did not harm the plastic around it at all....got LUCKY!
