NO, Shad is their own company. But yes, in Spain. Shad does have some nice stuff though. I do like their SH58x and SH59x cases for the ability to expand to 3 sizes as needed from 46L to 58L or 59L.
It wouldn't matter what it looks like IF I were to keep the luggage mounted ALL the time, but I don't do that. I only mount the luggage when it is needed so I do want the rack to at least look like it belongs and not just a tacked on home built bar bent to fit the mountings. I have done that myself on some of my bikes but only for items that are permanently mounted so I never actually see the bracket or bar I made to attach the item.
Kappa is the budget brand of Givi. I also like the Givi rack/adapter/rails better. My thinking is to go with the Givi SR6110 rack/adapter/rails, the Givi M8B mounting plate to mount on that (which I like better 'cuz it's black-ish to go with the color of my AK better and it's aluminum for better durability-not plastic), and the Kappa KGR52N top case. I am thinking I don't want to go with the rounded pod shaped cases this time around, yet this Kappa case is somewhat rounded on the corners and is a bit tapered front to back but just not nearly as much of a pod as most are. Also thinking about how I pack and how things fit into a case that is just a little bit closer to a box than an orb. I had a 52L Givi case on my first Burgman 650 years ago and that was a good size for me for when I traveled on moto/camping trips. This combination of rack and plate are designed for ANY Givi or Kappa Monokey case of your choice.
Look up the part/model numbers for these items (or just take what I've given here) on Google shopping and you'll find a lot of places where to buy them all. I shop around to get a good price including shipping and tax (if that is added in). For the items I mentioned my interest in getting I figured out the cost for the entire kit to come to around $525-530 when all is done. I also take care to note the rating of places I consider buying from. It does take just a little effort but you'd be most satisfied with the results.
In fact, I've even considered just getting the Givi rack and plate and delay getting any top case. That plate as a luggage rack comes in mighty handy for a lot of stuff to be packed on the tail. Did that with my Honda CTX1300. Never put a top case on that bike but did add the luggage rack and it worked out great.
