$439 for 600 mile service on a $3K scooter
« on: January 25, 2022, 11:11:22 PM »
Fellow Liberty owner out west.

"3 hrs labor and parts" ?
Valve check, oil & filter change, air filter.
and a "look over by a professional Piaggio technician."
The Liberty 150i 3V ABS lists at $2999.00

The 6,000 mile service will be a treat - parts added to the above> $37 belt, $9 air filter, $18 for the rollers

It's a very economical scooter if you do your own servicing.....oh yes - I paid $8 for the 2021 updated official Piaggio service manual download for the Liberty. Parts are readily available in the USA.

Stig

They wanted $387 for my ($3200) LIKE 200i 6oo mile service....9 years ago.
I taught myself to service it, instead.

After ..over 75 new bikes and scooters....and then they do not do all they say they do----to be quite frank, most is not necessary anyway.

Ride'em----I trade at 50,000 miles, let somebody else. worry.I do own oil changes, etc---air filters in normal street use last 30,000 miles,I have gotton 50,000 miles out of original plugs---lots of fresh oil---,WalMart 10-40 in US---good price, over 500,000 miles no engine failure/both air and water cooled

He hasn't the least interest in DIYing his scoot - save for oil changes, "maybe"
Saw the fees as reasonable - though did wonder that our 'official' service schedule said the 600 mile should take "50 mins" -and even I will admit that is a silly figure. No way all that stuff could be finished in 50 mins. You probably could do the new air filter, oil and oil filter .....and listen to the valves in 50 mins :) (the air filter is a bit tricky - requiring removal of seat-bucket ....then you use your fingers on a couple hidden butterfly fasteners)

He said he is saving for the 6,000mile service ....due to arrive "in @2 to 3 years"

agree

$100-$150. is about what I pay for routine & first service 1-1.25 hr labor +parts & chemicals

I find that very reasonable, I can't do it myself that quickly, change fluids, inspect fasteners, brakes, for abnormal wear, etc
