Agility 16+ 200i - Cutting out when Cold
« on: February 05, 2022, 02:01:36 AM »
Hi Everyone. I'm new here and just bought a 2018 Agility 16+ 200i. It has 16k on the clock. I also ride a 2018 KTM Duke 790, but I must admit am loving the scooter!

Sorry if this is the wrong group, I couldn't find the 200i listed in the forum so assumed the bikes would be similar...

I just gave it a basic service including a new plug. No leaks or other issues noted.

My problem is that it cuts out when cold. Initially it idles fine but then after taking off and then coming to a first stop again the revs drop too low and it cuts out. It continually does this until it warms up and reaches a higher temperature.
I don't think it has a manual choke, couldn't locate or find reference in the manual. Do they have auto choke's and if so, perhaps mine is faulty?

Otherwise perhaps it's an issue with the injector, or an air leak somewhere? Not sure...

I live in Australia, summer here and hot outside so I fear it will only worsen as it starts to cool down outside.

I appreciate any advice, thank you in advance!  :)

Cheers
Nigel

Ever have valves adjusted in those 16K?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Welcome Nigel in this KYMCO hive.
As Stig says, valve adjustment could be the reason behind this cutting off. Adjust them properly
IN/EX both 0.12 mm.

IF, I say IF your fuel injection unit looks like in this picture attached......
-warm up the motor
-turn this pilot screw (arrow) tenderly completely in,
then 2 1/2 (two and a half) turns out again or until the motor reaches it highest revvs
-don't worry right now about idling TOO high or too low
-turn the idle screw counterclockwise/ clockwise until idle is approbiate (1800-1900 rpm).
Let's see how it works.

Addionally I would check sparkplug tight, sparkplug cap in order, etc....
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Thanks Stig and Ruffus, much appreciated.

The fuel injection unit is different so I didn't locate or adjust the illustrated pilot screw.

I'll check the valve clearance, as advised. It has been regularly serviced but records don't mention that check specifically.

Thanks again,
Nigel
