Progress on my K-Pipe

Late summer of 2019, I ran my K-Pipe out of oil, no confidence in just doing a top end, and Kymco does not sell the whole motor as a unit. So I started looking aftermarket, and bumping up the cc. Originally looking for a 140cc, but before I knew it, there were none in North America.  I didn't really want to go all the way to 190cc, but I found one and it arrived a few weeks ago

I'm not doing this myself, I'm paying my dealer, they came and picked up the bike and engine last Thursday, I stopped at the shop this morning. The motor is physically in the bike now, working on melding the electricals to get it started. I will lose my gear indicator almost assuredly. I hope to keep the neutral light, vacuum petcock will be gone and replaced with a manual petcock

the engine is mounted with only the 2 rear mounts, there is no provision for a front mount on the new engine

the exhaust will be a project, as well as mounting the oil cooler,

next time I stop by my dealer, I will have my camera

I'm hoping the 190 will give it the ability to maintain 55mph with my lard ass and barn door torso,

the stock 125, I could only reliably maintain a 45mpg cruising speed (63 top on an 18% downgrade), I'm hoping to be able to maintain 55 and get my top speed up to 75-80

I know fuel economy will suffer, hopefully no less than 75mpg

the 190 is in and running, off to the fabricator to do the exhaust, then back to dealer to finish up with the oil cooler, and rig me up a neutral light, I knew I'd loose my gear shift indicator, but also the neutral light, will probably mount something on the handlebar.

I met with my exhaust fabricator this morning, the stock pipe location is too close to the oil cooler lines, and I think I'm gonna get a shiny red Thrush Cherry Bomb for a muffler, that is what I have on my V-strom 1000, and it's quiet enuf to pass state inspection

argh! I always forget my camera,  exhaust is complete,  my fabricator always makes it look perfect, now going back to dealer to reassemble the plastic and mount the oil cooler

weathers getting nicer, and I am getting anxious, gotta remember where I stashed the title & old registration, so I can re-register

Complete, pictures to follow

this thing rips 0-60 in under 10 seconds... couldn't even go 60 before

cruises easily in traffic @65 with minimal throttle didn't have an open road to see how fast it would go, but was still pulling strong

had to shift back to 4th, but easily maintained 50mph coming up the half mile of 18% grade on my street

on another note, I found some winter tires in K-Pipe size,  availability is the next question, Mitas MC -32

I've had a chance to get some more miles in, back roads, primary routes, highway, and what I have a lot of, gravel. Everything is different, it's not really a K-Pipe anymore, double the power at 17hp, and a 5spd (1d/4u) rather than the 8hp 4spd (0d4u)

I can easily get up to highway speed 65-70mph, and it has more on tap, how much, I do not know, it is a very sketchy feeling as you approach 70, I am actually scared to go faster on it.

I have to get better mirrors. The exhaust pipe even though wrapped, goes right past my ankle, gonna have to get a heat shield of sorts. The shifter is too short, and it's only a toe shifter, not a heel/toe, that is going to have to change

I've ordered a YSS shock,  also looking into fork springs, I don't like bottoming out when I hit a pothole (can't avoid em all)
