I sold my bike
« on: February 14, 2022, 07:02:19 AM »
Not because I wasn’t happy with it, but my needs changed.
It was with this motorcycle that I started to take on longer trips, I had 500-700km a day and 8-10-12 hours of motorcycling sometimes.
To reach further goals, I have to start in the morning at a speed of 1-2-3 hours on the highway (130km / h), for which I am sorry to use this engine.
After 30,000 miles and a lot of maintaining/installation/repair experience, I continue my journey in the saddle of a Honda NC 750 Integra, it protects the rider in a similar way and last but not least, it consumes very well.
I want to stay a forum member, I check back sometimes to see if I can help with something useful, share my previous repair experiences.
Thanks to all the forum members for the very helpful advice they shared here, it helped me a lot too, I reached for the engine much more easily, which I think adds even more experience to people with a motor heart.

Regards Greg

I think an Integra is a great choice, I would definitely consider one or a similar Honda with a DCT for regular long-distance riding.

Wow!
That's some serious motorcycling you were doing on your 300!
The 750 seems a good choice for your needs.
Being curious here....these long high-speed rides are for pleasure...or job related,? What region/country?
Please do keep in touch here...and we love photos of anything, anyplace you are riding!!
Ride safe...

Hello Stig,
I usually ride 50-80km a day, but on weekends I can go on longer trips if I can.
Since Hungary is in a basin, there is no high mountain, so I have to drive 300-500 km to mountain sections, which I want to drive down as soon as possible.
That’s why I don’t dare take on such tours with Kymco, I’m sorry to drive at highway speeds for hours.
I never drive on the highway if I can, I always choose curve roads, regardless of the time elapsed, but this is the only way to reach distant destinations in normal time.

Yes, the limiting factor of the DT300i is the rubber belt CVT. The engine is superb.

Your choice of the Honda is also superb to fill your needs. You still are our two wheel Brother of a differnt Mother! Ride on and send pictures of your rides!

Well if we're reminiscing Karl, I had a Hungarian girlfriend back in the day called Erika Vass!

On our Paris American Highschool soccer team Joe Helinski and I played across from ea. other in front of the goal keeper for 2 years.
These were the days before shin guards. For 24 mos. Joe kept a large scab going on his leg which was the shape of Brazil.
Mine was of The Big Island. (HI) On the bus ride home we'd pick them --- to maintain our countries.
He was a great guy - son of a surgeon and a Hungarian diplomat. But we never dated.
