Bumper year for biking (and scootering?)
« on: March 05, 2022, 11:09:05 AM »
A UK bike paper (MCN) article may be of interest. Good to read that new scooter sales here now account for >28% of the market!

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/motorbike-sales-figures/

Are folks finally seeing the benefits of commuting on high mpg machines with cities’ ultra low emissions zones?
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

that's great to see the boom in the UK!  It will be interesting to see if we see anything similar here in the States.
2010 People S200 - sold after 8 wonderful years!
2014 Ninja 300
1996 Honda Helix
1984 Honda Nighthawk 650

What will be MORE interesting to see is if a boom does happen in the USA, no matter how big or small, if it will be acknowledged in any way.

my local dealer (owner is a close friend) told me last summer, that May 2021 was his best month ever since opening in '99, in motorsports sales, later he told me June was even better.  mostly SxSs but everything on the floor sold out, scooters, bikes, watercraft, atvs  to the point that all he had was "socially distanced" used units to fill the showroom floor

however, sales were tied to the "covid" relief checks that turned into down payments on motorsports

I don't know.
It is my impression that one needs plenty of CC's to stay out of the grills of SUV's in this part of Ohio.

I'm sure it's just me.
There are a couple of reasons why I ride at daybreak. Lack of attacking traffic is one of them.
Cannot recall the last time I went out for a scooter or motorcycle ride mid-day.

There is something of a motorcycle society around this area.....but I'm the Lone Ranger on my scooters.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I don't have much traffic where I live,(there is, but I know how to avoid) in fact 50% gravel roads,  but occasionally, it would ne nice to maintain 55mph instead of 45mph
